Your First Workspace

A workspace is a single screen of panels. Visor gives you several, shown as tabs along the top, and each one is an independent layout you can switch between — one for indices, one for the instrument you are watching closely, one for research, and so on.

The grid

Every workspace is a 4-column by 3-row grid — twelve cells in total. A widget occupies a rectangle of those cells: a small panel might be 1×1, a chart is usually 2×2. The twelve-cell budget is shared, so a workspace holds a handful of large panels or a dozen small ones, but not both.

Keeping the grid fixed is deliberate. It means a layout always fits the screen with no scrolling, and every widget stays readable. When you want more room, you add another workspace rather than cramming one.

Edit mode

The Edit button (top right) turns on layout editing. In edit mode you can:

• Add a widget — the "+ Add widget" button, or click any empty cell, opens the widget gallery.
• Move a widget — drag it by its title bar.
• Resize a widget — drag the handle in its bottom-right corner.
• Remove a widget — the × in its title bar.

Click Done when you are finished, and the layout is saved automatically.

Adding your first widgets

A good first workspace for most people is a Chart, a Watchlist, and the SOOS Feed:

• The Chart shows candlesticks for one symbol, with indicators and drawing tools.
• The Watchlist is the list of symbols you follow, with live quotes.
• The Feed is the live stream of signals and headlines.

Because these panels are linked, clicking a symbol in the watchlist drives the chart to it — which is the subject of the next lesson.
